Shingles – help with Essential Oils
Jacque Gurney, CNHP, HHP, THC, owner of Millenial Wellness and Botanical Education Foundation, says: Shingles are the chicken pox virus that lays dormant along the spine. Life stresses, low immune function and dietary weakness will cause it to re-manifest, so it is important to eat a healthy diet, with no sugar, to get plenty of rest, and to manage your thoughts and your life’s stressors in a healthy way.
The most common area to get shingles is around the center of your body |
Here are some powerful uses of essential oils for managing Shingles:
· For the Immune System make capsules with a blend of Cinnamon, Clove, Eucalyptus Radiata and Orange (2 drops each) and fill capsule with Grapeseed oil - 3x daily.
· For on-site Pain and Healing
Mix into a 4 oz bottle filled 1/3 of the way with GRAPESEED oil and add:
40 drops Ravensara
20 drops Lavender
15 drops Birch (or Wintergreen)
15 drops Rosemary
15 drops Peppermint
10 drops Oregano
I like to use a spray bottle for large areas. If shingles are near to the eyes this is too hot a blend for that area. Apply 4 times per day minimum, and more if needed for pain.
You can make capsules with 2 drops Oregano, 2 drops Peppermint, and 2 drops Rosemary, then fill the capsule with grapeseed oil and take the capsules internally 3 x daily until breakout subsides.
Also, apply Ravensara and Rosemary along the spinal cord.

Other Options You can Use
· Apply 3 drops each of Rosemary and Lavender on location as a back-up if you’re not getting results
· For nerve damage, apply Helichrysum. There is no essential oil as good as Helichrysum for nerve damage or for inflammations, but as it is costly, most people use it as a last resort.
· Apply diluted Lavender oil (diluted with Grapeseed oil) to the area to soothe inflamed nerves, then massage Geranium on top of Lavender, and if necessary, add Helichrysum and or Myrrh on location.
· Myrrh can be applied directly on location of Shingles.
· For emotions use Geranium as needed (inhale, put by corners of nose, on temples, and back of neck.

If you don't have grapeseed oil, dilute essential oils with another carrier oil - - such as olive, almond, etc.
“I need to tell you how Rosemary essential oil helped my mom (D. Jenkins). When we got to her house on Saturday, she was literally covered with shingles pox welts (face, arms, back, legs, mouth, hair). She was swollen and inflamed everywhere as well as in a lot of pain and crazy from the itching. I suggested that she immediately begin using Rosemary, as that was what I had, but she was hesitant to take the Rosemary internally (I made her the capsules for her anyway). So we mixed Rosemary with Grapeseed oil and put it on her sores. She said she could feel the nerve tingling and shocking sensations quit and the itching subside right away. The next morning, the redness and the swelling was gone and she said she had slept all night, the first time in months. Needless to say, she was in tears and so grateful. It really was a miracle.
I was nervous at first because I didn’t want to give her something that would aggravate it even worse. But it made such a difference for her. If it continues to heal the way it did over the weekend, then maybe she can get past this awful pain. It made me wonder if Job had shingles the way it looked. Thank you – thank you from our whole family for listening to the spirit and going the extra mile to help her when you were so busy.” Love,
Jerri A
